Robert De Niro to be Honored at the Marrakech International Film Festival
The Marrakech International Film Festival is set to honor the acclaimed American actor Robert De Niro during its seventeenth edition, scheduled to take place at the end of November. According to a statement on the festival's official website, the 75-year-old De Niro will travel to Morocco to participate in this prestigious event.
This year’s festival will run from November 30 to December 8. In a message relayed by the festival, the legendary star expressed his excitement, stating, "Although I have visited Marrakech on several occasions, I feel that I will discover a side of the city that I have always yearned to explore. I am very grateful for this invitation and look forward to participating in this grand festival."
De Niro began his illustrious career in the late 1960s and has delivered countless cinematic masterpieces over more than five decades, earning him numerous prestigious awards, including the Academy Award. He also played a pivotal role in founding the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
The Marrakech International Film Festival, established in 2001, is recognized as one of the largest Arab film festivals, attracting both Arab and international stars. Last year, the festival announced the cancellation of its edition but is thrilled to resume its activities this year.
