Iran's Strategic Military Movements Revealed
In a recent interview, military expert and strategist Brigadier General Samir Ragab disclosed critical information regarding Iran's military operations. He highlighted that Iran has relocated its centrifuge units to a heavily fortified site known as "Jabal al-Fas," which is embedded deep within granite mountains, exceeding 100 meters in depth. This move raises significant concerns regarding the security implications for the region. Ragab explained that this site was previously untouched during the twelve-day conflict, demonstrating its strategic importance and resilience against potential attacks.
Brigadier General Ragab elaborated on the Iranian military's reliance on asymmetric warfare tactics. He pointed out that following substantial losses of heavy naval assets, such as submarines and frigates, Iran's military strategy has shifted to utilizing small, agile Zodiac boats capable of launching attacks on larger naval vessels. This shift not only reflects a change in operational capabilities but also underscores a broader strategy of employing unconventional methods to counteract more formidable enemies.
Ragab's insights were shared during a phone-in segment on the popular talk show "Al-Hekaya" hosted by Amr Adib on MBC Masr. He emphasized the necessity of comprehensive agreements for maritime operations in the Strait of Hormuz, especially concerning the presence of American, European, and Arab naval forces to effectively counteract Iranian threats. Furthermore, he warned about the severe implications of Iran's actions to enhance its nuclear capabilities by moving enriched materials, with a purity of 60%, to this fortified location, as it poses a significant risk to regional stability.
