easyJet Expands Operations in Marrakech
easyJet has officially opened its new base in Marrakech, Morocco, marking a significant expansion in its operations. This new base, equipped with three aircraft, enables the airline to introduce six new routes while ensuring year-round connectivity on existing flights. The inauguration of this base is a key element of a long-term partnership between easyJet and the Moroccan National Tourist Office, which was established in 2025. As part of this collaboration, easyJet is set to offer an impressive four million seats in the inaugural year of the base's operations, enhancing travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
New Routes and Expanded Connectivity
To celebrate the opening, easyJet has announced the addition of six new routes to Morocco for the upcoming winter season. These routes will connect Prague, Newcastle, and Zurich to Marrakech and are already available for booking. Furthermore, additional routes from Nantes to Essaouira, Bordeaux to Agadir, and Birmingham to Agadir are scheduled to launch this spring. With these new offerings, easyJet will increase its total routes to Morocco to an impressive 58, with 30 of those connecting to Marrakech. Existing routes will also see expanded operations, ensuring that Lille, Strasbourg, and Hamburg to Marrakech are available year-round. This strategic expansion is part of Morocco's broader initiative to enhance international connectivity and boost tourism ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will host alongside Spain and Portugal.
