Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in passenger traffic by the end of April compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. In its latest statistics concerning commercial air transport for April 2026, the office revealed that the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 passengers during the first four months of this year, a substantial rise from the 87,420 passengers recorded in the same timeframe last year.
In April alone, the number of travelers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking an impressive increase of 25.29% from the 25,593 passengers registered in April 2025. The data indicates a strong dominance of international flights at this airport infrastructure, accounting for 97,641 passengers, which reflects a growth of 14.41%. In contrast, domestic flights saw a significant decline, with only 240,000 passengers, representing a staggering drop of 88.43%.
Furthermore, the airport also witnessed a 16.31% increase in aircraft movements, totaling 756 flights by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year. On a national level, commercial air transport across the kingdom's airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, an increase of 9.7% compared to the same time last year.
