Saad Agouzoul Returns to FCSM: A Key Addition to the Defense

Saad Agouzoul Makes His Comeback at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard

In an exciting turn of events for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard (FCSM), the club welcomes back a familiar face, Saad Agouzoul. The 28-year-old central defender has rejoined the team after a stint at AJ Auxerre, and his return is expected to bolster the defensive line significantly. Agouzoul’s journey began at Kawkab Athlétique Club in Marrakech, where he made his professional debut before catching the eye of European scouts, leading him to sign with Lille OSC in 2019.

During his time at Lille, he had a successful loan at Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian top division, which paved the way for his remarkable performance in Ligue 2 with FCSM during the 2022/2023 season. Agouzoul quickly became an indispensable player for the team, participating in 37 matches and scoring a memorable goal from a corner against AS Saint-Étienne, which was celebrated as the club's best goal of the season.

Following FCSM's relegation to the National league in the summer of 2023, Agouzoul transferred to AJ Auxerre, where he played a pivotal role in their Ligue 2 championship victory in 2024, contributing to their promotion to Ligue 1. However, despite the success at Auxerre, he did not see any playtime in the top tier and spent the last season on loan at RKS Radomiak Radom in Poland and Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus, both of which resulted in championship wins for the player.

Standing tall at 1.91 meters, Agouzoul is known for his aerial prowess and tenacity in duels, making him a vital asset in defensive situations. His experience and skills will undoubtedly enhance FCSM's backline as they prepare for the upcoming challenges. The club has expressed their enthusiasm for his return, confirming that he will don the Sochaux jersey until 2027, marking a new chapter in his career.
