Real Oviedo Welcomes Youness Lachhab: A Key Signing for the Future

Real Oviedo Secures Youness Lachhab in Exciting Summer Signing

In a move that has generated excitement among fans, Real Oviedo has officially announced the signing of Youness Lachhab, a 27-year-old midfielder hailing from El Palmar, Murcia. This acquisition follows the recent addition of Pablo Sáenz, marking the second signing for the club as they gear up for the upcoming summer transfer window. Interestingly, this deal was finalized several months ago, showcasing the club's proactive approach in strengthening their squad.

Lachhab, who has represented Morocco at various youth levels, has signed a contract with Real Oviedo that extends until 2028. He played a pivotal role in AD Ceuta's impressive campaign in the Segunda División, where his contributions were instrumental in the team's success. Under the guidance of coach José Juan Romero, Lachhab participated in 37 matches this past season, with 31 of those as a starter, accumulating a remarkable 2,540 minutes on the pitch and netting two goals.

As a positional midfielder, Lachhab is known for his ability to dictate play from deeper positions on the field. Although he may not possess blistering speed, his ideal role is as a pivot in a three-man midfield setup rather than as a central playmaker in a double pivot formation. His ball-handling skills are commendable; he maintains composure under pressure and is adept at delivering incisive passes that cut through defensive lines. Standing at 1.95 meters, his physical presence adds another layer of strength to his game.

Having developed his skills in the youth academy of Real Murcia, Lachhab later progressed to the first team and has also had stints with the reserves of both Almería and Granada. With the current midfield landscape at Real Oviedo evolving, especially as Santi Cazorla takes his time to make a decision about his future, Lachhab's signing is unlikely to be the last as the club looks to reinforce this crucial area of the squad.
