New Leadership for the Left Youth in Rahamna Promises Change

On the evening of July 29, 2026, the founding general assembly of the Left Democratic Youth branch in the Rahamna region took place at the headquarters of the Democratic Confederation of Labor in Ibn Jirir, under the supervision of the national organization leader, Farouk Mahdaoui. This organizational milestone is part of the ongoing dynamic efforts by the Left Democratic Youth across the nation, aimed at strengthening youth presence and injecting new energy into the political and ecological work within the region.

The assembly addressed the membership guidelines and established the branch's constitutional and internal regulations, while fostering a vibrant discussion among the youth regarding the political and social crises faced by the Rahamna region. The conversation emphasized the importance of youth involvement at the core of local political action.

Following the voting process and organizational consensus among attendees, the following local branch office was elected:

  • General Secretary: Ayman Salam
  • Deputy General Secretary: Mohamed Amin Al-Rashid
  • Treasurer: Mourad Beshri
  • Deputy Treasurer: Walid Al-Wardi
  • Advisor: Abdullah Al-Imrani

In a statement made after his election, the newly elected General Secretary Ayman Salam confirmed that the establishment of the Rahamna branch was the result of months of coordination with the national office and participation in its advocacy initiatives. He emphasized that "this establishment is not an electoral agenda, despite its timing coinciding with the electoral season; rather, we view it as a continuation of our commitment to the youth's positions."

Salam further stated that this initiative was a response to the "dismal reality of the Rahamna region across social, economic, and political dimensions, compounded by the near absence of proactive political organizations capable of engaging youth and addressing their issues." He underscored the new office's responsibility to build a conscious leftist youth base poised for change and ready to confront oppression and authoritarianism.
