Japanese Embassy's Brief Visit to Marrakech's Le Grand Atlas Association

Strengthening Cultural Ties Between Japan and Morocco

On April 20, 2026, Sato Daisuke, a counselor from the Japanese Embassy, made a courtesy visit to the Le Grand Atlas Association (AGA) in Marrakech. During this brief yet significant meeting, he engaged with Professor Mohamed Knidiri, the president of AGA, to discuss enhancing friendship and cooperation between Japan and Morocco, particularly in the socio-cultural and artistic realms. The counselor emphasized that Marrakech, known as the "red city," plays a crucial role in fostering relationships between the two nations, especially in the context of revitalizing exchanges and promoting mutual understanding.

Joint Initiatives for Economic and Cultural Cooperation

During their discussions, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to structured dialogue aimed at facilitating joint initiatives that would invigorate investments in priority sectors. They also highlighted the progress made under a new vision to enhance the role of Regional Investment Centers, which serve as key players in supporting investors and project holders. This dynamic approach aims to ensure a more integrated governance of the investment process and effectively implement the provisions of the new Investment Charter, thereby contributing to sustainable, balanced, and inclusive development across all regions of Morocco. The meeting marked a significant step towards solidifying the cooperative efforts between Japan and Morocco.
