Footshop Opens Its First Flagship Store in France on Rue de Rivoli

Footshop Launches in Paris: A Strategic Move in European Expansion

Footshop, the renowned Czech retailer known for its premium sneakers and streetwear, has officially opened its first flagship store in France, located at 63 Rue de Rivoli in Paris. This physical store is a significant part of the company’s broader strategy to solidify its presence as an independent player in the highly competitive urban fashion market, where sneakers are considered a staple of style.

A Prime Location in the Heart of Paris

The choice of location for this flagship store is no coincidence. Situated strategically in the first arrondissement of Paris, the store is nestled in the bustling Châtelet area, between the popular Forum des Halles and the historic La Samaritaine. This prime spot positions Footshop within a vibrant retail ecosystem, surrounded by well-known fashion and lifestyle brands such as JD Sports, Ray-Ban, Bershka, Levi’s, and Uniqlo, attracting both local and international shoppers. The brand has meticulously prepared for this launch, highlighting a long-term commitment to establishing its footprint in the French market.

Spanning 170 square meters across two levels, the new flagship features an innovative architectural design by the Prague-based firm RDTH, which is intended to be replicated across its physical stores. The space is a hybrid of retail and exhibition, showcasing an industrial floor, modular stainless steel structures, and translucent textile panels. Additionally, the façade is equipped with digital lighting conceived by artist Richard Loskot, replacing traditional signage to enhance nighttime visibility.

According to Peter Hajduček, CEO and founder of Footshop Group, "Paris was never a question of if, but when. Rue de Rivoli places us at the center of one of Europe’s most demanding retail environments, and we will work hard to become a genuine player in the local culture."

The Paris store boasts a carefully curated assortment, featuring global sportswear giants alongside more niche labels. Shoppers can find collections from iconic brands such as Nike, adidas Originals, New Balance, Asics, Puma, as well as Off-White and Heliot Emil. The in-house brand, FTSHP, complements this lineup with a premium streetwear line designed to compete with leading industry references.

With expectations of welcoming one million visitors, Aleš Pitro, the company’s sales director, emphasizes that “France is one of the most sophisticated and scrutinized sneaker and streetwear markets in the world. Opening a flagship in Paris is a crucial step for Footshop as it provides the visibility necessary in the fashion capital of the world.”

The physical store network now includes six premium locations across Prague, Budapest, Bucharest, Bratislava, Warsaw, and the newly opened Paris flagship, marking a significant milestone in Footshop’s European expansion journey.
