Tobias Ebster, a talented rally motorcyclist from Tyrol, has recently signed a multi-year contract with the emerging motorcycle brand ZXMoto. The 28-year-old athlete made headlines by clinching two stage victories during his inaugural races, marking a significant achievement for the relatively new brand, which was founded in 2024. Following his success in the Dahaidao race in China, where he expressed excitement about making history, Ebster is now gearing up for the next challenge in Morocco, where a crucial test run for the Dakar Rally scheduled for January 2027 will take place.
"I just finished washing my gear from China, and now I am already packing for Morocco," Ebster shared enthusiastically. His primary mission in China was to test the bike under competitive conditions, and he noted that they did not anticipate such strong results, stating, "We were not expecting top placements or victories." The overwhelming attention he received post-race came as a surprise to him, as he recounted the experience of fans capturing photos and requesting autographs, which was an unusual situation for the motorcycle star.
Preparations for the Rally du Maroc
With his ZXMoto bike, Ebster and his team are set to participate in the Rallye du Maroc in Agadir. He emphasized that this event will primarily focus on testing, as he anticipates stronger competition compared to his previous races. "The main goal, however, is the Dakar Rally in January," he clarified, maintaining a clear vision for his upcoming challenges. Additionally, he mentioned that the hand injury he sustained earlier this year has healed well, and he only experiences some sensitivity to changes in weather. Nevertheless, he humorously suggested that this might actually work in his favor as he continues his preparation for the demanding races ahead.
