The 36th Academic Council of the Muhammadiyah Association: Strengthening Spiritual Security and Embracing Future Challenges

The Muhammadiyah Association of Scholars convened its 36th Academic Council on Saturday in Marrakech, focusing on the ongoing operations of the organization, exploring future project opportunities, and approving the literary and financial reports for the year 2025. This council meeting is part of the association's efforts to reinforce the foundations of spiritual security within the kingdom, solidifying the principles of religious identity, and safeguarding faith against the threats posed by extremism, particularly through social media and other platforms.

During the event, the Secretary-General of the Muhammadiyah Association of Scholars, Ahmed Abadi, emphasized that the current world is experiencing significant changes, necessitating the necessary skills and capabilities to address and benefit from these transformations. He highlighted the constant commitment of the King, Amir al-Mu'minin Mohammed VI, to encourage scholarly institutions in the kingdom to clarify the essence of faith, enabling citizens to acquire the tools for a correct understanding of religion, especially in this age of artificial intelligence, which boasts unprecedented speed that surpasses human capacity for comprehension.

In this context, Abadi stressed the importance of scholarly institutions focusing on refining the optimal method for understanding meaning, facilitating the effective utilization of artificial intelligence applications and tools to enhance people's lives and boost their productivity. Furthermore, he pointed out that this academic assembly serves as an opportunity to present a series of applications that the association has developed to facilitate access to these innovative tools for various generations within Moroccan society.

This initiative is being implemented through partnerships with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, as well as other sectors and numerous universities, aimed at creating a series of training packages and curricula to build the necessary competencies and skills in this area. The agenda of the council included discussions on the institution's ongoing projects, presenting its work program in the realm of "serving Islamic sciences and making them accessible," and the project titled "Methodology for the Functional Application of Islamic Sciences: Foundation for a University Toolkit," to enhance the significant choices and serve the core values of the noble Moroccan kingdom in terms of belief, doctrine, and behavior. Additionally, the council reviewed projects and programs from research centers and scientific units, along with the achievements and future prospects of the "Generations" centers and units dedicated to support and resilience under the auspices of the association.
