Temporary Changes to Train Services Between Marrakech and Sidi Ibrahim as High-Speed Rail Project Progresses

In light of the ongoing development of the new high-speed rail line connecting Kenitra and Marrakech, the National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced a temporary alteration to passenger train services along the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim route. This adjustment is necessitated by the construction work aimed at integrating the new high-speed line with the existing infrastructure.

The ONCF detailed in a recent post on its official Facebook page that these construction efforts are crucial for enhancing both the capacity and infrastructure of the Marrakech station. The improvements will include an increase in the number of tracks and platforms, enabling the station to accommodate both high-speed trains and regional services efficiently.

Starting from Tuesday, April 21, at 9 PM until Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11 PM, there will be temporary changes in train operations along the Marrakech – Sidi Ibrahim corridor. During this period, and due to the ongoing construction, the departure and arrival of Atlas trains will be temporarily relocated to Sidi Ibrahim station instead of the Marrakech station.

To ensure the continuity of passenger transport services to and from Marrakech station, the ONCF will implement a special coordination system between trains and buses, adhering to suitable schedules. Additionally, dedicated teams will be mobilized to provide assistance and guidance to travelers between Marrakech and Sidi Ibrahim stations.

The ONCF has confirmed that normal train operations will resume on Friday, April 24, 2026. They express gratitude to their customers for their understanding and encourage them to seek prior information for better travel planning through the ONCF-INFO TRAVAUX system.
