Tanger Ibn Battouta Airport Sees Over 7% Increase in Passenger Traffic by February End

The Tanger Ibn Battouta Airport has reported a significant increase of over 7% in passenger traffic by the end of February 2026, with a total of 405,256 passengers recorded during the first two months of the year. This figure is in stark contrast to the 377,916 travelers that passed through the airport during the same timeframe in the previous year, as detailed in the latest statistics released by the National Airports Office (ONDA).

A closer examination of the passenger traffic at the airport reveals a notable predominance of international flights, accounting for 371,076 passengers, which represents an increase of 8.27% compared to the previous year. Conversely, domestic flights experienced a decline, with only 34,180 passengers, marking a decrease of 2.84%. The overall airport movements also saw a remarkable improvement, with an increase of over 15.9% as the airport recorded 3,338 movements by the end of February 2026, compared to 2,879 during the same period last year.

In February alone, the airport welcomed 175,136 passengers, reflecting a slight decrease of 5.18% compared to the 184,713 passengers recorded in February 2025. Notably, the commercial airports within Morocco collectively registered a total of 5,909,802 passengers by the end of February 2026, marking a robust increase of 7.91% compared to the same period last year. This surge in traffic underscores the growing popularity of the Tanger Ibn Battouta Airport as a key hub for international travel.
