According to the office's periodic statistics regarding commercial air transport for April 2026, the airport welcomed a total of 97,881 passengers during the first four months of the current year, a notable rise from 87,420 passengers during the same timeframe last year. In April alone, the number of travelers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, reflecting a substantial increase of 25.29% compared to 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
The data on air transport distribution at this airport infrastructure highlights the dominance of international flights, with a total of 97,641 international travelers recorded, marking an increase of 14.41%. In contrast, domestic flights saw a significant decline, with only 240,000 passengers, representing a staggering drop of 88.43%. Regarding aircraft movement, this airport also experienced a rise of 16.31%, with a total of 756 air movements recorded by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year.
On a national level, commercial air traffic across the kingdom's airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, indicating an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects a recovering aviation sector as travel demand continues to rebound.
