Essaouira-Mogador Airport Sees Impressive Increase in Passenger Numbers
Essaouira-Mogador International Airport has reported a remarkable increase of 11.97% in the number of passengers during the end of April 2026, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office. The office shared its regular statistics regarding commercial air traffic for April 2026, revealing that the airport welcomed 97,881 passengers in the first four months of the current year, up from 87,420 in the same timeframe the previous year. Specifically, in April alone, the number of travelers passing through Essaouira-Mogador Airport reached 32,065, marking a significant increase of 25.29% compared to 25,593 passengers in April 2025.
The data concerning the distribution of air traffic at this airport infrastructure highlights the dominance of international flights, accounting for a total of 97,641 passengers and recording an increase of 14.41%. In contrast, domestic flights saw a significant decline, with only 240,000 passengers, reflecting a decrease of 88.43%. Furthermore, the airport experienced an increase of 16.31% in aircraft movements, totaling 756 flights by the end of April 2026, compared to 650 flights during the same period last year. On a national level, the overall commercial air traffic across the kingdom's airports reached 12,336,962 passengers by the end of April 2026, which represents a growth rate of 9.7% compared to the previous year.
