Security Crackdown on Drug Trafficking in Tassalant
In a significant move against drug trafficking, the local gendarmerie in Tassalant is set to present three individuals to the public prosecutor at the primary court in Marrakech on Wednesday, August 26. The charges stem from their involvement in the possession and trade of a narcotic known as "maajoun." This action follows a meticulously planned security operation conducted by the Tassalant gendarmerie on the evening of August 24, which led to the arrest of the primary suspects found in possession of a substantial quantity of the drug intended for distribution in the area. A third individual involved in the case will be monitored while remaining free, as investigations continue.
The suspects were temporarily detained at the Tassalant gendarmerie station for further questioning under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor's office. This investigation aims to uncover all potential networks linked to this illicit activity before the suspects are formally presented for legal proceedings.
