In the vibrant neighborhood of Al-Izdihar in Marrakech, residents of the "Garden Residence 1 and 2" have voiced their urgent concerns regarding a commercial establishment that has become a source of noise and unrest within the community. The premises, originally intended for gaming and video activities, have unfortunately devolved into a hub of chaos, significantly disturbing the peace for families and children living in the area.
The head of the homeowners' association submitted a formal complaint to the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and the president of the local council, copies of which have been obtained by mojaz24.com
The complaint highlighted that the establishment attracts large gatherings of young people, generating loud noise that persists into the late hours of the night. It further stated that the activities conducted in the establishment often exceed legal limits, with reports of it being used as a "lodging for suspicious individuals" outside of official operating hours.
Residents, who collectively occupy 186 residential units across ten buildings, expressed their deep concerns over the potential transformation of their communal corridors into a breeding ground for delinquency, exacerbated by the mingling of minors with adults exhibiting immoral behaviors. The affected individuals emphasized that this deteriorating situation poses a threat to the safety and moral integrity of the children within the residence and surrounding neighborhoods, warranting immediate intervention from local and security authorities.
Previous correspondence from the residents indicated they had reached out to the Jiliz District Council and security services. Despite administrative police issuing warnings to the owner of the establishment, the situation remains unchanged. The residents insist that repeated security patrols have failed to deter ongoing violations, resulting in daily activities that pose a genuine threat not just to their residence but also to the adjacent areas.
