GBB's 6th Hospitality Innovation Summit Set for June in Rabat
The city of Rabat is poised to host the 6th Hospitality Innovation Summit organized by GBB, a prominent provider of B2B networking events, on June 10-11. This significant gathering will take place at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr, drawing together both regional and global leaders in the hospitality sector to engage in discussions about real project initiatives and the burgeoning potential of Morocco's hospitality landscape.
With the FIFA World Cup 2030 looming on the horizon, Morocco is setting ambitious targets, aiming to attract 26 million visitors and necessitating the development of over 150,000 hotel rooms before the decade concludes. A press release from the event organizers underscores that the country's hospitality expansion is already in full swing, signaling a robust future for the industry.
Morocco's Transformative Hospitality Landscape
Over 500 senior decision-makers, including developers, hotel operators, architects, and other key stakeholders, are expected to attend this influential event. Ravi Kumar Chandran, the founder and managing director of GBB, highlighted Morocco's pivotal role in this hospitality summit, stating, "What is happening in Morocco is more than a hotel build-out; it is a structured national reset." He pointed to the Cap Hospitality programme, which is investing 4 billion MAD into the modernization of 25,000 existing hotel rooms and emphasized that Vision 2030's target of 26 million visitors is reshaping every conversation around design, procurement, and operations within the country.
Chandran expressed his contentment regarding the partnership with Morocco's Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) and the National Council of the Order of Architects of Morocco (CNOA). He noted the participation of leading owners and developers in Morocco, including RISMA, Atlas Hospitality, Alliances, ADDOHA, CGI, YNNA Holding, and Eagle Hills Morocco, alongside GBB’s hospitality partner, The Four Seasons.
Additionally, global operators such as Accor, Marriott, Hilton, Radisson, BWH, and Kerten are also slated to participate in the summit, highlighting the international interest and investment in Morocco's hospitality sector. The previous year saw Morocco welcome 19.8 million tourists, marking a 14% increase from the prior year, which the Ministry of Tourism hailed as a record-breaking performance, showcasing the strong upward trajectory of the country's hospitality industry.
Moreover, Morocco’s tourism revenue hit a record high of MAD 124 billion by the end of November 2025, reflecting a remarkable 19% increase compared to 2024. With the goal of welcoming 26 million tourists by 2030, Morocco's aspirations seem increasingly realistic, especially as it prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. Bloomberg reported in March that Morocco is embarking on a monumental $4 billion initiative aimed at increasing its hotel capacity by 20% in anticipation of the World Cup, with plans to add 25,000 new rooms—a scale and speed described by Imad Barrakad, head of the Moroccan tourism development agency SMIT, as unprecedented in the nation's history.
