New Manufacturing Facility Set to Boost Production and Create Jobs

Pratt & Whitney Canada has officially inaugurated its new manufacturing facility located in the Midparc Industrial Zone of Nouaceur, Morocco. This strategically significant site, covering an impressive 130,000 square feet, is designed to enhance the global supply chain of Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX). The facility is projected to generate approximately 200 new jobs by 2030, addressing the increasing demand for high-quality and reliable aircraft engines from customers around the world. Maria Della Posta, the president of Pratt & Whitney Canada, emphasized the importance of this new site, stating, "This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers."

The new facility will focus on manufacturing detailed static and structural machined components specifically for Pratt & Whitney Canada's aircraft engines, including the widely recognized PT6 engine family. This move is not only a step towards expanding production capabilities but also a commitment to fostering local talent and reinforcing Morocco's standing in the aerospace sector. Through partnerships with local organizations, Pratt & Whitney aims to cultivate the next generation of aerospace professionals while investing in the community.

Rapid Development and Advanced Manufacturing Techniques

Since breaking ground in 2024, the construction of Pratt & Whitney's facility in Morocco has accelerated rapidly, moving swiftly to operational readiness. This progress includes the recruitment of a skilled workforce, comprehensive technical training programs, and the installation of cutting-edge machining equipment. The design of the facility adheres to lean manufacturing principles, ensuring that advanced digital systems are utilized to enhance quality, operational excellence, and efficiency across all processes.

In conjunction with Pratt & Whitney, RTX's sister company, Collins Aerospace, has been manufacturing cockpit solutions and flight controls in Morocco since 2012, collectively employing approximately 250 individuals in the kingdom.
