Pratt & Whitney Expands Operations in Morocco with New Factory
Pratt & Whitney has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility spanning 12,000 square meters in the Midparc industrial park located near Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, Morocco. This new plant is set to specialize in the production of high-precision static and structural machined components for various engines developed by the company. Notably, the facility will focus on the renowned PT6A turboprop engine, which stands out as one of the most successful models in the market today.
The Midparc industrial park is home to several prominent businesses, including Aciturri, which manufactures blades for the CFMI LEAP engines. Aciturri became part of the Spanish enterprise after acquiring the Moroccan company GOAM Industrie.
According to Pratt & Whitney, they anticipate that the new facility will employ approximately 200 workers by 2030, adding crucial production capacity to meet the increasing demand from their clientele for reliable, high-quality engines. Maria Della Posta, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, emphasized the strategic importance of the plant, stating, “This facility is a strategic extension of our global production network and underscores our commitment to establishing resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to scale up production for our customers.” She also highlighted the company's efforts to collaborate closely with local organizations to train the next generation of aerospace professionals while investing in the communities in which they operate, ultimately reinforcing Morocco’s position as a leader in the aerospace industry.
