On the evening of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the local judicial police in Marrakech apprehended a 34-year-old woman suspected of involvement in witchcraft and the possession and promotion of illicit pharmaceutical products that pose a threat to public health. The arrest follows the surveillance efforts of the national security's information vigilance unit, which identified social media posts where the suspect was offering witchcraft services and weight gain solutions using a variety of smuggled substances.
Through extensive research and investigations, authorities were able to ascertain the identity of the suspect and her residence, leading to her arrest while she was allegedly providing these services to three women in a residential apartment she utilized in Marrakech. During the raid, officers discovered an alarming cache of 551 ointments, herbal powders, and various tools and vessels used in this criminal activity, along with a sum of money suspected to be derived from her illicit operations.
The arrested woman is currently under police custody, while the three women she was serving are undergoing judicial inquiries supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office.
