National Geographic Endurance Makes a Historic Stop in Funchal
The National Geographic Endurance, a state-of-the-art expedition vessel designed for polar navigation, has made a notable stop at the Port of Funchal on this fine Monday morning. The ship, carrying 147 passengers alongside a dedicated crew of 105, arrived at approximately 6:15 AM from Agadir, Morocco. This journey marks an exciting segment of their expedition, with a scheduled departure set for 6:00 PM, heading towards Santa Cruz de La Palma in the Canary Islands.
This unique voyage is part of the National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, which commenced on Thursday in Lisbon and is set to conclude on October 20 in Dakar, Senegal, after making stops at various locations including the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. Notably, this is the third visit of the National Geographic Endurance to the Madeira archipelago, and it represents the second docking at the Port of Funchal since its inaugural visit back in April 2024. The upcoming schedule for the port includes the arrival of the Celebrity Apex and the Spirit of Adventure this Wednesday, as confirmed by the Administration of the Ports of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (APRAM) in a recent press release.
