On Tuesday, April 7, law enforcement officials in Marrakech successfully apprehended a 34-year-old woman suspected of engaging in sorcery and possessing as well as distributing illicit pharmaceutical materials that pose a threat to public health. The police's vigilance unit had been monitoring social media platforms where the woman was advertising her sorcery services, claiming to help individuals gain weight using a variety of smuggled substances. Following an extensive investigation, authorities were able to ascertain the identity of the suspect.
The arrest took place while she was allegedly providing these services to three women inside an apartment she was utilizing in Marrakech. Upon her capture, officers discovered a significant cache of 551 ointments, herbal powders, and various tools and containers associated with her illicit activities. Additionally, a sum of money believed to be the proceeds from these criminal operations was seized.
The suspect has been placed under police custody, while the three women involved are undergoing a judicial inquiry supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office. This investigation aims to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case and to identify any potential extensions of the suspect's criminal activities.
