Marrakech-Menara Airport Sees Passenger Traffic Surge in Early 2026

Marrakech-Menara International Airport has reported a remarkable milestone, welcoming 1,016,169 passengers by the end of April 2026. This figure reflects an impressive increase of 8.42% compared to the same period in 2025, according to data released by the National Office of Airports (ONDA). This growth underscores the airport's pivotal role as a key gateway for both domestic and international travelers to Morocco.

During the same timeframe in 2025, the airport had received 937,260 passengers, highlighting a significant year-on-year growth as indicated by ONDA's comprehensive traffic statistics. Analyzing the breakdown of passenger traffic between domestic and international flights reveals that Marrakech-Menara Airport welcomed 961,408 international passengers, a notable rise from 891,740 passengers in the previous year, representing a 7.81% increase. Meanwhile, the domestic segment also showed robust growth, with 54,761 travelers recorded, compared to 45,520 at the end of April 2025, marking a 20.30% surge.

In total, for the first four months of 2026, Marrakech-Menara Airport has accommodated 3,803,669 passengers, up from 3,432,643 during the same period in 2025, reflecting a significant overall growth of 10.81%. This upward trajectory is indicative of the airport's increasing importance in the region and its ability to handle a growing influx of tourists.

When examining the top international routes for April 2026, the Marrakech-Paris Orly route emerged as the busiest, carrying 78,229 passengers. It was closely followed by Mohammed V-Paris Orly with 73,481 travelers, Marrakech-Paris Charles de Gaulle with 60,667, Mohammed V-Paris Charles de Gaulle with 52,158 passengers, and Marrakech-London Gatwick with 48,233 travelers. This performance further confirms the dynamic status of Marrakech-Menara Airport as one of Morocco's principal tourist entry points.
