Significant Police Operation in Marrakech
On Monday, April 6, a coordinated effort between the judicial police of Marrakech and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance led to a significant drug bust, resulting in the seizure of 17,586 psychoactive pills. Four suspects, aged between 20 and 40, were arrested on charges of possession and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances. The operation unfolded across various neighborhoods in Marrakech, where authorities apprehended the individuals while they were allegedly engaged in drug-related activities. Following their arrest, an extensive search yielded a large cache of 17,586 medically classified narcotic pills of different varieties, in addition to two light vehicles suspected of being used to facilitate this criminal enterprise.
Further investigation into the suspects revealed that one of them was already wanted on multiple national warrants for involvement in similar drug trafficking offenses. The arrested individuals are now subject to judicial inquiry under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, aimed at uncovering potential connections and other accomplices involved in these illicit activities. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Moroccan authorities to combat drug trafficking and enhance public safety in the region.
