The hotel industry in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region is witnessing a wave of new developments and transformations, with various properties making headlines for their unique offerings and strategic acquisitions. One notable highlight is the debut of Radisson Individuals in Spain, where the Radisson Hotel Group has launched two hotels: the Blau Hotel Las Caldas and the adjacent Blau Gran Hotel Las Caldas, each boasting 79 rooms and owned by Roxa Hospitality and Balneario de Caldas de Oviedo, S.A., respectively. This move underscores Radisson's commitment to expanding its footprint in Spain.

Meanwhile, in Manchester, a significant change is underway as The Gotham hotel is set to rebrand to The Rex on April 23. This transformation comes after the hotel's acquisition by Leonardo Ltd. The new identity will include the introduction of a members’ club, enhancing the hotel’s appeal to a broader audience.

In Mykonos, renowned hotel firm Nammos Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its portfolio with the opening of the Nammos Resort Amaala in Saudi Arabia's ambitious Triple Bay project. This resort will feature 110 keys alongside 20 private residences, marking a significant development in the luxury hotel sector of the region.

Strategic Acquisitions and New Signings

Other noteworthy advancements include the opening of the Moxy London Piccadilly Circus, managed by Criterion Capital and Marriott International, which is now the second-largest Moxy hotel globally, featuring 532 rooms. Additionally, Extendam and Experimental Group have co-acquired the Quinta da Comporta Wellness Boutique Resort in Portugal for €70 million, which is set to undergo expansion to include 16 more rooms.

Further expanding the hospitality landscape, Virgin Limited Edition has announced plans to launch a hotel in Marrakech by 2028, while Minor Hotels is making its mark on the island of Pemba, Tanzania, with the NH Collection Pemba Island Resort. The latter is expected to open in February 2030, showcasing Minor's growing presence in the region.

Not to be overlooked, the Locke hotel brand is set to open its sixth property in London’s Canary Wharf district, while Hyatt Hotels Corporation will introduce its first Hyatt Select-branded hotel in Berlin, planned for 2028. OKU Hotels will also debut an adults-only hotel in Bodrum, Turkey, enhancing the destination’s appeal for travelers seeking tranquility.

In the UK, IHG Hotels & Resorts has secured agreements to manage four new hotels, collectively offering 382 rooms, while Atland-Voisin has acquired five B&B Hotels across France, adding a total of 536 rooms to its portfolio.
