Ismael Saibari Joins Bayern Munich After Stellar World Cup Performance

The powerful forward, who showcased his skills by scoring a stunning goal against Alisson in the opening match of Group C, has reached an agreement to join the Bavarian club for a significant fee. He is set to undergo a medical examination in the United States and will officially join the team after the World Cup concludes.

During the 2026 World Cup, hundreds of thousands of football fans, many of whom typically follow only their favorite teams or a select few important matches, became acquainted with Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan forward made a memorable debut by netting a spectacular goal against Brazil, contributing to the 1-1 draw in Group C. Just days later, his career took a major leap forward as he secured a transfer to one of Europe's giants.

Bayern Munich has shown interest in the PSV player for quite some time. Saibari's versatility allows him to maneuver adeptly across the entire attacking front, and he can even drop back to play deeper on the pitch. Known for his opportunism and exceptional goal-scoring instinct, he rarely misses the target when he has the chance to find the back of the net.

These qualities are among the many that convinced coach Vincent Kompany to pursue the 25-year-old, who has made a promising impression while representing the Atlas Lions in the United States. Aware that the World Cup serves as the biggest showcase for players, and that his outstanding performance could attract new suitors, Bayern acted swiftly to secure his services.

The proposal that ultimately convinced the Moroccan, who hails from Terrassa, Barcelona, and his current Dutch club—where he was under contract until December 2029—amounted to €55 million. This is a highly attractive figure in the Eredivisie. Consequently, the final paperwork is being completed, and he will soon undergo a medical examination in the United States. Once the World Cup festivities conclude, he will relocate to Germany to be officially presented and face the greatest challenge of his career.

In the past season, Saibari demonstrated his credentials as a prolific scorer: he netted 19 goals and provided nine assists in 37 matches, sometimes playing as a central striker and at other times as an attacking midfielder. Since joining Eindhoven, he has accumulated a remarkable total of 42 goals and 29 assists in 142 appearances.
