Ingedetec Expands into Morocco with ACCIÓ's Support for International Growth

Ingedetec Establishes Presence in Morocco

Ingedetec, a Catalan engineering firm headquartered in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Baix Llobregat, has officially opened a technical office in Tangier, Morocco, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. This initiative, backed by an initial investment of €230,000, aims to enhance Ingedetec's global presence as it specializes in engineering services tailored for the development of technological vehicles.

With the assistance of ACCIÓ, the Catalan Government’s agency focused on business competitiveness, Ingedetec secured an €80,000 grant from a funding line dedicated to multi-localization projects. This financial support underscores the strategic importance of the project, aimed at bolstering Ingedetec's footprint in international markets.

Strategic Growth and Future Prospects

Ingedetec provides engineering services to manufacturers and suppliers across the automotive, railway, and aerospace sectors. The company focuses on designing and developing electrical systems, lighting, interior and exterior vehicle components, and batteries, in addition to conducting rigorous tests and evaluations of these systems. With the establishment of the new technical office, Ingedetec anticipates a 50% increase in its global exports and a 5% growth in revenue within the first year of operations.

The new office is situated in the Tangier Med Free Zone, one of Morocco's leading industrial hubs. Juan José Marcos, CEO of Ingedetec, describes this move as a strategic step towards continued growth, leveraging a well-established industrial environment, and enhancing proximity to major industry players. He notes that this presence will not only boost the company's activities in North Africa but also solidify Morocco as a service platform targeting Europe.

As part of its growth plan, Ingedetec has commenced the recruitment of local talent, aiming to onboard between six to ten professionals by the end of 2026. This initial phase will combine Moroccan engineers with personnel transferred from Catalonia to facilitate knowledge transfer. Looking ahead to 2027, the company plans to directly secure projects within the Moroccan market and gradually expand its team.

Ingedetec maintains robust collaborations with local universities, training centers, and business clusters to identify talent and foster synergies with the industrial framework of Morocco. Founded in 2005, Ingedetec currently employs 220 professionals globally, with approximately 100 based in Catalonia. In addition to the new office in Morocco, the company operates two offices in Germany and two in Mexico, supporting its international projects, which generated a global turnover of €10 million in 2025.

This expansion aligns with the new internationalization strategy for the Catalan economy spanning 2026 to 2030, initiated by the Catalan Government through ACCIÓ. The strategy aims to adapt the Catalan business landscape to the evolving context of international trade, with goals including maintaining Catalonia's export leadership, integrating 2,000 new exporting companies, and reaching 3,500 Catalan companies with foreign subsidiaries. Within this framework, the public-private program Catalunya Exporta is designed to facilitate the international expansion of new Catalan enterprises.
