Increased Staffing at BLS Speeds Up Spain Visa Applications in Morocco This Summer

Summer Visa Applications to Spain Get a Boost in Morocco

As the summer travel season approaches, BLS International has announced an expansion of its operations at Spain visa application centers across Morocco. This strategic move aims to enhance the efficiency of handling the rising number of visa requests from Moroccan citizens, who have been showing a sustained interest in traveling to Spain and other Schengen countries. BLS has bolstered its staffing levels in key cities, including Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, Nador, and Agadir, to ensure that applicants receive timely support and services. The increased personnel will undergo specialized training focused on improving queue management and enhancing overall applicant assistance, ensuring a smoother application process.

Furthermore, BLS is adopting advanced digital solutions, such as online appointment scheduling, document tracking, and biometric systems, which are critical in streamlining the application process. Applicants are advised to be cautious of intermediaries who may attempt to sell appointments, as slots for visa applications are limited and can be quickly filled each week. This situation underscores the high demand for Schengen visas, as evidenced by the significant number of applications submitted by Moroccan residents.

According to statistics, Moroccan citizens filed approximately 606,800 Schengen visa applications in 2024, marking a slight increase from 591,401 applications in the previous year. This places Morocco as the fourth largest source of Schengen applications globally, following China, Turkey, and India, as reported by the European Commission. Overall, Schengen states processed about 11.7 million applications in 2024, issuing over 9.7 million visas. Notably, France remains the top destination for Moroccan applicants, with over 32,500 long-stay visas granted in 2025.

For those applying for short-stay visas to Spain, BLS indicates that standard processing times can vary significantly, ranging from 15 to 60 days, and potentially longer in certain cases. With the summer months typically being a peak period for travel, the increased efficiency at BLS centers is expected to significantly benefit those looking to travel to Spain.
