Official Start Dates for the 2026-2027 School Year

The Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports has officially informed all parents, guardians, students, educational staff, and the general public that the school year for 2026-2027 will commence on the pre-scheduled date as outlined in Ministerial Order No. 047.26, issued on July 3, 2026, regarding the organization of the academic year.

In a recent announcement, the ministry clarified that members of the educational administrative staff, supervisory bodies, and national education administrators will report to their workplaces to sign the official entry reports on September 1, 2026. Subsequently, educational staff and researchers in education and training will join their respective institutions to complete the same process on September 2.

Furthermore, children in preschool and students in the first and second grades of primary education, as well as those entering the first year of lower secondary education and the common branches of upper secondary education, are expected to return to their schools on September 3. Students in the third and fourth grades of primary education, the second year of lower secondary education, and the first year of the baccalaureate will begin classes on September 4.

September 5 has been designated for the return of fifth and sixth-grade students in primary education, as well as those in the third year of lower secondary education and the second year of the baccalaureate. The ministry emphasizes that the effective and mandatory start of classes across all educational levels will take place on September 7. Additionally, classes for non-formal education and second chance programs are set to begin on October 5, 2026.

The ministry has reiterated its call for all educational stakeholders, administrators, families, and partners to collectively mobilize to ensure the success of this school year and to guarantee that all students across various educational institutions are provided with quality learning time.
