FIFA Announces Draw Dates for U-17 World Cups in Qatar and Morocco 2026

Official Draws Scheduled for FIFA U-17 World Cups in 2026

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially confirmed that the draws for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco will take place on May 21, 2026, at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich. This announcement comes on the heels of a highly successful inaugural edition of the newly established annual U-17 tournaments, which debuted last year in Qatar and saw an impressive participation of 48 teams. The event showcased some of the most promising young talent in the sport, culminating in a remarkable victory for the Portuguese team. This tournament not only marked a significant milestone in the global promotion of youth football but also set the stage for the second edition of this exciting format, scheduled for later this year.

In addition to the men’s tournament, the first edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, also held under the new annual format, was a resounding success. This expanded tournament, featuring 24 teams, was won by DPR Korea, providing fans with high-quality football and substantial local engagement. The event represented another critical step forward in the continued growth of women’s football globally. The next edition is also on the horizon, promising to build on the momentum established in its inaugural year.

The draws will be attended by football legends and guests from the host countries, and will be broadcast live to fans around the world, ensuring a moment of excitement and anticipation for all involved. Further details regarding the draw procedures, participating teams, and broadcasting arrangements will be communicated through FIFA's official channels in due course.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 will take place from November 19 to December 13, 2026, featuring a total of 48 teams. Meanwhile, the tenth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is set to occur in Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026, with 24 teams competing for the title.
