Matacán Airport Unveils Extensive Flight Options for Spring and Summer 2026
Matacán Airport is poised for a remarkable spring and summer season in 2026, offering the most extensive range of destinations seen in recent years. According to Aena, there are flights scheduled to thirteen destinations until the end of October, operated by three airlines: Enter Air, Volotea, and Smartwings. It is important to note that the schedule may be subject to changes by the airlines.
The season's inaugural flight is set to depart on June 13, heading to Tenerife Norte, operated by Smartwings and organized by local tour operators. This marks the only new addition to domestic flights, alongside the regular weekly service to Palma de Mallorca that Volotea will maintain from June to September, representing one of the most established routes from the airport in recent years.
International Destinations and Charter Flights
The majority of international offerings will be provided by Enter Air, which will manage nearly all European and North African charter flights. Aena has confirmed six destinations for the summer season: Amsterdam (September 12), Hamburg (September 20), Brussels (September 28), Fez (October 6), Venice (October 14), and Nantes (October 22). Following a pattern of approximately one destination every eight days, these flights are primarily geared towards vacation packages organized by travel agencies, with departures and returns from Matacán Airport itself.
Additionally, there are six more destinations listed in the schedule until the end of October, although official confirmation dates are still pending. These include Berlin, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, and Milan in Europe, as well as Marrakech in Morocco, all serviced by Enter Air, along with Palma de Mallorca as a charter reinforcement in addition to Volotea's regular flights. The introduction of flights to Fez and Marrakech is particularly noteworthy, as these routes restore and enhance connections to North Africa, which had been sporadically available in previous seasons through flights organized by Soltour with Air Nostrum for the provinces of Salamanca, Valladolid, and León.
The majority of these flights will be marketed by travel agencies and other tour operators, including programs aimed at specific groups. The comprehensive programming of summer charter flights to nine European countries and Morocco emphasizes Matacán Airport's commitment to enhancing its connectivity and providing travelers with diverse options.
