Empowering Futures: The 17th Regional Educational and Professional Guidance Forum in Taroudant

The 17th edition of the Regional Forum for Educational and Professional Guidance, known as "FUTARoad", took place on April 17 and 18 at the Cultural Center of Taroudant, under the inspiring theme "Effective Guidance, Promising Professional Future." This event, organized by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports in Taroudant, in collaboration with various institutional and economic stakeholders, aimed to enrich the guidance offerings and broaden the horizons for beneficiaries. It provided an interactive space that combined information dissemination, consultations, and ongoing support.

This forum served as a vital communication and interaction platform, particularly for students preparing to take their baccalaureate exams. It offered them the unique opportunity to engage directly with representatives from universities, higher institutes, and engineering and business schools, allowing them to explore various specializations and training programs. Students were able to learn about the admission requirements and the educational and employment opportunities that these paths could offer.

In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, Ibrahim Ahnouch, the head of the Regional Center for Educational and Professional Guidance at the Souss-Massa Regional Academy for Education and Training, emphasized that the primary goal of organizing this forum was to equip students with comprehensive information about available training opportunities after obtaining their baccalaureate. This information is crucial in helping them select academic and professional paths that align with their abilities and aspirations.

Ahnouch further stated that the event created a direct communication space between learners and representatives from higher education and vocational training institutions. This interaction allowed students to closely examine various specializations and their entry requirements while exploring the related professional prospects, which could significantly enhance their chances of future academic and professional success.

Similarly, career guidance consultant Youssef Rafiq remarked that the forum was an important opportunity for students to learn directly about various educational and professional pathways, as well as the prerequisites for entering different specializations. He highlighted that such initiatives help bring information closer to learners and rectify misconceptions regarding guidance. Rafiq stressed the significance of early support for students, particularly in examination years, to assist them in making realistic choices that resonate with their skills and interests.

Moreover, direct interaction with representatives from academic institutions and vocational training centers allows learners to gain a clearer understanding of educational and employment prospects, thus enhancing their ability to make informed decisions regarding their educational and professional futures.

The agenda of this forum included workshops and interactive sessions facilitated by educational guidance professionals and specialized experts, focusing primarily on techniques for selecting educational pathways, building personal projects, and developing self-skills. Additionally, psychological and educational support was provided to help students navigate the challenges of guidance and make decisions that align with their inclinations and capabilities.

This educational event was not exclusively for students but also targeted those wishing to redirect their studies or complete their university paths, along with parents and guardians, who play a crucial role in supporting and guiding their children through various stages of educational guidance.

This initiative aligns with the implementation of provisions from Framework Law No. 17.51 concerning the reform of the education and training system, as well as the activation of the national strategy aimed at enhancing the educational and professional guidance system. It seeks to assist learners in building their personal and educational projects, empowering them to make informed choices for their educational and professional pathways that meet the evolving labor market demands and developmental requirements.
