The appeals chamber of the misdemeanors court at the Court of Appeal in Fes upheld the initial ruling against the Moroccan singer Jawad Asrdi, popularly known in artistic circles as "Bouz Flow," on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The court confirmed all aspects of the initial judgment issued by the primary court.
Previously, the misdemeanors chamber at the primary court in Sefrou sentenced Asrdi to three months in suspended imprisonment and imposed a fine of 2,000 dirhams, while also allowing him to retrieve his personal computer, which had been seized as part of the investigative procedures.
The legal proceedings stemmed from a set of charges brought against Asrdi by the public prosecutor, which included allegations of "insulting a regulatory authority and offending public officials through statements made in the line of their duties, intending to undermine their dignity and the respect due to their authority." These charges were prompted by the content and dissemination of several of his songs.
It is noteworthy that "Bouz Flow" had been released from the local prison in Sefrou after completing his initial trial period, during which he requested the court to apply the law in his final statement before the ruling panel.
