Discover the New Culinary Gem in Rabat
Cicchetti, a contemporary Italian dining concept that has already made waves in cities like London, Manchester, Dubai, and Riyadh, has officially opened its doors in Rabat on April 23 and 24, 2026. Located within The View Hotel in the Hay Riad district, this venture is the result of a collaborative effort between the Moroccan group Experienciah, Sunset Hospitality Group, and the San Carlo Group, aimed at delivering an authentic Venetian culinary experience centered around the joy of sharing.
The restaurant draws inspiration from the Venetian bacari, which are small bars known for their convivial atmosphere where patrons share small plates over drinks. In Rabat, Cicchetti reinterprets this tradition in a modern and sophisticated setting, catering to various occasions—from business lunches to friendly dinners and evening aperitifs. Designed to accommodate 90 guests, the interior artfully combines light wood, marble, and velvet, creating a warm yet elegant ambiance.
Guided by Executive Chef Alessandro Lanza, whose culinary journey has spanned London and the Amalfi Coast, the menu features a selection of dishes made exclusively from ingredients sourced directly from Italy. Signature offerings include Ravioli Tartufo e Pecorino, Risotto Porcini e Tartufo served from a wheel of cheese, Branzino al Sale, and Arancine Siciliane. The restaurant is overseen by General Manager Alessandro Raimondi, who boasts over fifteen years of experience in luxury hospitality, having worked at establishments like Fairmont Abu Dhabi, Nara Dubai, and San Carlo in London.
Raimondi stated, "With Cicchetti, we are introducing a vision of Italian cuisine to Rabat where each dish celebrates the union of tradition and innovation," emphasizing that The View Hotel provides the perfect backdrop for this lifestyle concept. Abbas Azzouzi, President of Experienciah, expressed that this opening underscores the group's ambition to position Rabat and Morocco as destinations capable of hosting iconic international concepts, thus elevating the national culinary experience to meet the highest global hospitality standards.
Baris Molvali, Vice President for Europe, Turkey, and North Africa at Sunset Hospitality Group, views this establishment as a natural convergence of Italian-Venetian warmth and Moroccan hospitality, where meals symbolize connection and sharing. Cicchetti Rabat aspires to become a benchmark for modern Italian cuisine in Morocco, bolstered by the expertise of the San Carlo Group, which has been in operation since 1992 and currently manages over 30 award-winning establishments globally, alongside Sunset Hospitality Group, which operates in 26 countries with 112 properties.
