Casablanca Stock Exchange Ends on a High Note
On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Casablanca Stock Exchange experienced a notable rise, with its main index, the MASI, increasing by 2.73% to close at 18,871.53 points. This upward trend was also reflected in the MASI 20 index, which encompasses the 20 most liquid stocks, rising by 2.16% to reach 1,351.71 points. Notably, the MASI ESG index, which includes companies with the best ESG ratings according to Moody's ESG Solutions, surged by 4.19% to settle at 1,380.92 points.
The performance of smaller companies was also promising, as evidenced by the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which rose by 1.26% to close at 1,902.73 points. On an international level, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 Index and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid both finished the day with gains of 3.6% and 3.02%, respectively, closing at 17,990.42 points and 16,231.99 points.
Examining sector performances, the "Mines" sector led the gains with a remarkable increase of 9.05%, followed by the "Transport Services" sector, which rose by 3.91%, and the "Financial Services and Other Financial Activities" sector, gaining 2.04%. Conversely, the "Holdings" sector recorded the most significant decline at -3.20%, with the "Insurance" sector slightly down by 0.08%, and the "Transport" sector remaining unchanged.
The trading volume reached approximately 515.6 million dirhams, predominantly on the central market for equities, with significant transactions carried out in Ciments du Maroc (276.9 million dirhams), Managem (52.11 million dirhams), and Attijariwafa Bank (23.15 million dirhams). The overall market capitalization stood at nearly 1.0953 trillion dirhams.
In terms of individual stock performances, Managem led the gains, increasing by 9.97% to 16,600 dirhams, followed by Rebab Company (+5.99% to 98.57 dirhams), Oulmes (+5.97% to 1,224 dirhams), Minière Touissit (+5.83% to 4,850 dirhams), and Promopharm (+5.80% to 1,350 dirhams). In contrast, the largest declines were observed in Mutandis (-3.85% to 225 dirhams), Delta Holding (-3.22% to 57.1 dirhams), Maghrebail (-2.18% to 899 dirhams), AFMA (-1.61% to 1,220 dirhams), and Cartier Saada (-0.98% to 30.2 dirhams).
