Key Responsibilities and Required Skills
The role of Data Engineer involves numerous critical responsibilities. You will be expected to design and develop robust, secure, and scalable data pipelines; integrate, transform, and leverage data from various sources, including relational databases, files, APIs, and streaming flows; and participate in data modeling and performance optimization. Additionally, you will contribute to the implementation of data integration solutions for high-stakes business projects, collaborate with Data Science and Business Intelligence teams, and establish orchestration and automation solutions using tools like Airflow and Azure Data Factory.
Successful candidates will possess a strong technical background in data engineering, including a Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Proficiency in at least one of the following technologies is essential: GCP, Databricks, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or Informatica. A solid command of Python and SQL, along with experience in cloud platforms, familiarity with modern data architectures, and knowledge of orchestration, monitoring, and supervision tools are also required. Candidates should demonstrate analytical skills, autonomy, rigor, and a strong ability to work collaboratively within teams. Additionally, having a cloud or data engineering certification will be viewed as a significant advantage.
