García Albiol did not hold back in his criticism of the suspect, stating, "It takes a certain kind of lowlife to mug an octogenarian. Today, it did not go well for him." He also expressed concerns regarding the current legal framework surrounding public safety, suggesting that the arrested individual could be released in a short period. This criticism was directed towards the government of Pedro Sánchez, as he lamented, "Unfortunately, due to the current government, he will be back on the streets tomorrow."
