Al Ahly Football Club Strengthens Squad with New Signing
In a significant move to bolster their roster, Al Ahly, Egypt's most decorated football club, has officially announced the signing of Moroccan striker Sufyan Ben Jdida. The announcement was made via the club's official Facebook page, where it was revealed that Ben Jdida will join the team on a three-year contract from Moroccan club FUS Rabat.
The club's head of contracts, Essam Sarag, traveled to Morocco to finalize the financial and administrative arrangements in coordination with the football director Wael Gomaa. Al Ahly extended its gratitude to FUS Rabat, led by Omar Benis, for their cooperation in facilitating the transfer, highlighting the strong relationship between the two clubs.
Ben Jdida, a 24-year-old forward, emerged as the top scorer in the Moroccan Professional League last season, netting 20 goals and leading FUS Rabat to their first league title in 41 years. His prior experience includes stints at Belgian club Standard Liège and Moroccan club Raja Casablanca, making him a valuable addition to Al Ahly's attack.
This transfer marks Al Ahly's third major signing as they aim to rebound from a trophyless season, having previously acquired duo Ali Mahmoud and Aqtai Abdullah from ENPPI.
Taher Mohamed Taher Extends His Stay at Al Ahly
In related news, Al Ahly has also announced the renewal of Taher Mohamed Taher's contract for an additional two years, extending his stay at the club until 2029. The renewal was confirmed through a session with Gomaa and Sarag, where all terms of the new contract were agreed upon. Taher expressed his happiness regarding the extension, emphasizing his appreciation for the club and its supporters, vowing to work hard alongside his teammates to bring joy and success to the fans.
