Insights from the Recent Government Council Meeting

Additionally, the council was informed of another agreement made in Segovia on May 29, 2025, which outlined the financial and administrative provisions for the office's operations. The presentation of draft law No. 030.26, aimed at formalizing these agreements, underscores Morocco’s commitment to solidifying its role as a regional hub for tourism innovation and international collaboration.
Furthermore, the council approved a decree related to the status of labor inspectors, which includes provisions for travel allowances to ensure effective oversight within the workforce. The legislative agenda also featured the approval of draft law No. 041.25, which amends and complements existing legislation regarding real rights. This reform is designed to modernize legal frameworks governing real estate transactions, adapting them to current economic and social realities while enhancing legal security.
In terms of security collaboration, the Government Council acknowledged a significant cooperation agreement with Burkina Faso signed on December 10, 2025, aimed at bolstering bilateral relations particularly in security matters. This initiative promotes the exchange of expertise and coordinated efforts to tackle common security challenges, reflecting Morocco's proactive approach in fostering stability and security across the African continent.
Finally, the council’s discussions included a comprehensive update from the Minister of Interior regarding the preparations for the legislative elections set for September 23, 2026. This update detailed organizational and operational measures to ensure a smooth electoral process, covering logistical, administrative, and technical aspects. Additionally, several high-level appointments were confirmed, including the designation of Mohammed Tarik Bachir as Director of the Treasury and External Finance, and Youssef Moflih as Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Ain Sebaâ, Casablanca.
