Fès-Meknès Health Directorate Celebrates World Immunization Week

Fès-Meknès Health Directorate Engages in World Immunization Week Activities

The Fès-Meknès Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection has actively joined other regions across Morocco in commemorating World Immunization Week. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy aimed at enhancing public health and preventing diseases that can be avoided through vaccination. From April 20 to April 24, 2026, Morocco will observe this significant international event under the slogan: "We love our children; we protect them through vaccination." This campaign aims to instill a culture of health prevention among families and bolster parental confidence in the importance of vaccination as an effective means to shield children from serious illnesses, thereby reducing mortality and disability rates associated with these conditions, while also supporting national health security.

In this context, the regional directorate intends to leverage this occasion as a strategic opportunity to intensify awareness and educational efforts. A range of field and communication measures will be adopted, including increased campaigns aimed at citizens, particularly in areas with vaccination coverage rates below the desired level. Furthermore, the initiative will engage media outlets and institutional stakeholders to disseminate reassuring awareness messages regarding the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

The program will also feature interactive meetings and awareness activities in collaboration with civil society organizations, both at urban and rural health centers as well as educational and university institutions. The primary objective is to broaden the understanding of the importance of adhering to the national vaccination schedule.

Special emphasis will be placed on remedial actions for children who have not received vaccinations within the specified timelines. This will involve mobilizing mobile medical units to reach rural and remote areas, along with efforts to enhance the quality of vaccination services, ensuring the integrity of the cold chain and improving the competencies of health staff in communication and listening.

These efforts are part of a comprehensive vision aimed at improving the reception conditions for beneficiaries and creating a healthy and safe environment that guarantees children receive vaccinations according to the national immunization program. This, in turn, will bolster collective prevention and safeguard the health of future generations.
