Weather Forecast for May 8, 2026
The Moroccan General Directorate of Meteorology has issued its weather forecast for Monday, May 8, 2026, predicting a range of atmospheric conditions across the country. Areas such as Saiss, Gharb, Oulmès, the plains to the west of the Atlas Mountains, the Oriental region, the Moulouya Valley, the interior of Souss, and southeastern regions are expected to experience warm to hot weather. Meanwhile, dense low clouds accompanied by mist or light drizzle are likely to develop in the northern and central plains, the Mediterranean coast, and the northwestern Saharan provinces.
In the Middle Atlas region, skies will be intermittently cloudy, and strong gusts of wind are anticipated along the central coasts, southeastern areas, and southern provinces, potentially resulting in localized dust storms. The minimum temperatures are forecasted to range from 9 to 15°C in the Atlas region, while the southeastern, eastern, and southern Saharan provinces will see temperatures between 20 and 27°C. In other areas, nighttime temperatures will generally fluctuate between 15 and 20°C. Daytime temperatures are expected to slightly decrease in the northern Atlantic plains but will rise in other regions.
The Mediterranean Sea is expected to be calm to slightly choppy, while conditions in the Strait will also be relatively calm. However, areas between Tangier and Larache may experience some agitation, and the southern waters are predicted to be rough.
