Significant Investment in Taounate's Infrastructure
In a bid to enhance the infrastructure and essential services in the Taounate region, significant strides are being made to support various development projects aimed at accelerating progress within the area. One of the key initiatives currently underway is the first phase of the road improvement project for the city of Taounate, which stretches from the southern entrance to the city center. Road Improvements and Future Plans
When asked about the timeline for the commencement of the second phase of the main road improvement project, which runs from the Total gas station to the northern entrance of the city, Bouzidi mentioned that it is currently under study with the relevant authorities. Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor Tawfiq Baransi confirmed that construction has already begun at the southern entrance of Taounate, with plans to also enhance the streets in the Al-Wahda neighborhood where work commenced recently. This undertaking is not just about road construction but aims to create a beautiful and inviting entrance for visitors, as it handles a heavy flow of traffic daily, making it a focal point of the city.
The project, which has garnered significant attention due to previous delays, is seen as a crucial step toward modernizing the city and enhancing its urban landscape. The overall budget for this project is estimated at 175 million dirhams, with over 111.5 million dirhams allocated for the initial phase.
