Tina Clayton Leads Jamaican Charge in 100m at Meeting International Mohammed VI
In an electrifying display of speed and skill, Tina Clayton, the silver medalist from the World Athletics Championships, showcased her remarkable talent by clocking a season's best time of 10.85 seconds during the women's 100m event at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athlétisme de Rabat in Morocco, a prestigious stop on the Wanda Diamond League circuit held on Sunday. From the moment the starting gun fired, Clayton surged ahead, demonstrating her explosive start and commanding presence throughout the race. Although she fell short of breaking the meeting record of 10.83 seconds set by the illustrious Elaine Thompson-Herah in 2022, her performance was nothing short of stellar. Joining Clayton on the podium were her compatriots Lavanya Williams and Jonielle Smith, with Williams achieving a personal best of 10.95 seconds to secure second place, while Smith finished closely behind in third at 11.00 seconds, marking both athletes' first appearances in the Diamond League.
