The Future Path: RNI Engages with Traders and Artisans in Casablanca

In a significant move to strengthen its ties with local merchants and artisans, the National Rally of Independents (RNI) recently hosted a national forum in Casablanca themed "Traders and Artisans at the Heart of National Economic Transformation." This initiative, dubbed "The Future Path," underscores the party's commitment to addressing the needs and expectations of these crucial economic players.

Lahcen Saadi, a member of the RNI's political bureau, emphasized the vital role of local traders in Moroccan society, stating that they maintain a constant connection with families and contribute significantly to local food security and social stability. He highlighted that the artisanal sector employs approximately 2.7 million people, a substantial number of whom are women in rural areas, playing a crucial role not only in the economy but also in preserving the nation's cultural heritage.

Saadi also pointed out the advancements in social protection and digitalization, particularly in e-commerce and payment methods, noting that around a million traders and artisans now benefit from these developments. While praising the establishment of over 120 professional organizations that support the sector, he acknowledged ongoing challenges such as access to raw materials, marketing support, legislative reform, administrative procedure simplification, and the availability of land for investment projects.

Karim Zidane, another member of the RNI's political bureau, reiterated the importance of traders and artisans in the national economy, representing nearly 80% of it. He stressed the support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises, which can provide up to 30% in assistance, along with guidance throughout their project phases. Zidane reaffirmed the party's dedication to supporting traders and artisans, viewing them as pillars of the national economic dynamic.

Ahmed Souh, president of the National Organization of RNI Traders, articulated that the forum aims to "listen to the concerns from the ground and translate them into actionable proposals." He particularly noted the significant advancements in social protection now accessible to professionals in the sector, which he described as a "major transformation."
