Stroc Industrie Leads the Market with Record Trading Velocity in H1 2026

Understanding Trading Velocity in the Stock Market

In the stock market, investor attention typically gravitates towards price fluctuations and the volumes of shares traded. However, trading velocity provides an additional layer of understanding by measuring the intensity of transactions in relation to the available float size. This metric is calculated by comparing the funds exchanged on the central market to the floating market capitalization, allowing analysts to estimate the proportion of the float that has changed hands over a specified period. A high trading velocity indicates robust investor activity concerning a particular stock, although it does not reveal the direction of the price movement. This indicator can accompany various market phases, including accumulation, profit-taking, speculation, or redistribution of the floating capital.

Stroc Industrie Maintains Dominance in Trading Velocity

As of the end of the first half of 2026, Stroc Industrie has achieved the highest trading velocity on the market, standing at an impressive 36.78%. This figure indicates that more than one-third of its floating market capitalization was traded on the central market during the first six months of the year. Stroc Industrie continues to lead the rankings, having already held the top position in the first quarter, where its trading velocity was recorded at 24.01%. Following closely in the second position is Résidences Dar Saada, which boasts a turnover rate of 27.69%, while the Compagnie Minière de Touissit occupies the third spot with a trading velocity of 24.40%. Notably, Compagnie Minière de Touissit has climbed a position compared to the first quarter, now surpassing Involys, which has a trading velocity of 23.39%. Vicenne rounds out the group of stocks with over 20% of their float changing hands, recording a ratio of 21.28%. The bottom half of the ranking is led by SMI, with a trading velocity of 15.63%, closely followed by Stokvis Nord Afrique at 14.87% and HPS at 14.47%. Alliances ranks ninth with a turnover rate of 12.89%, while Jet Contractors concludes the top ten with a trading velocity of 11.80%.
