Strengthening Security Ties: Hamooshi Welcomes Polish Security Official

Hamooshi Meets Polish Security Minister to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Abdelatif Hamooshi, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance in Morocco, received Tomasz Siemoniak, the Polish Deputy Minister responsible for coordinating security services, in Rabat. This meeting was part of a working visit undertaken by the Polish government official, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Polish ambassador to Morocco. The primary goal of this visit was to strengthen and support the areas of security partnership between Poland and Morocco.

According to a statement issued by the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, both parties engaged in discussions covering numerous shared interests. These discussions included enhancing coordination and information exchange concerning illegal immigration, securing border crossings, and bolstering operational cooperation and technical assistance in combating organized crime and terrorism, alongside various fields of forensic and technical police specialties.

Furthermore, they addressed the issues and challenges related to the risks posed by terrorism on global and African security. Both sides shared similar views regarding high-risk security threats in regions such as the Sahel, Sahara, and the Horn of Africa, as well as other emerging hotspots where terrorist organizations are active, posing a significant threat to global security.

The Polish security services are banking on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Morocco's security apparatus, recognizing it as a reliable and essential partner in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. To solidify this collaboration, both Hamooshi and the Polish official agreed on arranging a forthcoming visit to Morocco by the head of the Polish internal security agency to establish a formal framework for their security partnership.

This bilateral meeting exemplifies the desire of both parties to reinforce their collaboration in the security sector and opens up promising avenues for enhancing and developing this cooperation, which is expected to positively impact the security of both nations.
