Socialist Team Addresses Growing Environmental Crisis in Agadir

The Socialist group in the Federal Council has taken a proactive stance in addressing the escalating environmental crisis surrounding the 'Souika Bensrkaw' area in Agadir. They have submitted a formal written inquiry to the Minister of Interior, questioning the reasons behind the collective authorities' disregard for merchants' pleas and the accumulation of waste behind this vital facility.

This oversight initiative by the Socialist team aims to support the demands of the Association of Merchants and Professionals of Souika, which has reported a complete lack of response to all its communications and reminders directed at the cleaning sector within the Agadir municipality. This disregard persists despite the local authorities' initial promises and understanding of the significant struggles faced by both the professionals and the neighboring residents.

The Socialist advisors have urged the Ministry of Interior to compel the municipal services in Agadir to take immediate action in removing the waste. They are also seeking clarifications regarding the lack of engagement with official communications from civil society and are advocating for the implementation of comprehensive and sustainable solutions to halt this environmental degradation, ensuring public health and safeguarding the interests of the professionals involved.
