Seizure of Over 100 Kilograms of Processed Cannabis from Morocco

Significant Drug Bust in Algeria

This week, a significant operation was conducted by the regional anti-drug trafficking unit in Tlemcen, resulting in the seizure of 1 quintal and 27 kilograms of processed cannabis, known as kif, originating from Morocco. The operation took place in Ain Sefra, located in the Naama province, according to a statement released by the National Security Directorate on Saturday.

The report indicated that this successful operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking crimes. The Tlemcen anti-drug unit managed to apprehend an individual linked to an organized criminal network while simultaneously confiscating the substantial quantity of kif. The operation was executed following meticulous field investigations, which enabled investigators to disrupt the activities of this criminal organization and thwart an attempt to smuggle the drug shipment into central regions of Algeria.

In-depth investigations, conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecution, led to the arrest of one member of this criminal network and the seizure of the toxic cargo in a residential area of Ain Sefra. The arrested suspect has since been presented to the public prosecutor at the Ain Sefra court, in accordance with the source's information.
