On June 21, 2026, Casablanca witnessed an exhilarating edition of RUN & BEAT, an event that seamlessly blended running, music, and urban animation, all in celebration of the Fête de la Musique, with the generous support of Opel Morocco. This vibrant gathering attracted over 2,000 participants who came together to engage in a unique, non-competitive format that encouraged camaraderie and enjoyment rather than rivalry.
The event commenced and concluded at the iconic Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur, which was transformed into a wellness and lifestyle village for the occasion. Throughout the route, participants followed a creatively designed truck, enlivened by DJ irenee.s, enhancing the festive atmosphere with lively music, all while running without the pressure of timers or rankings. This initiative was envisioned not just as a sporting event, but as a collective experience that brought together a diverse array of individuals, including seasoned runners, casual enthusiasts, sports communities, music lovers, and those attracted by the cultural and festive dimensions of the gathering.
Yasmine Ouf, one of the co-organizers of RUN & BEAT, remarked, "Opel RUN & BEAT 2026 has demonstrated the strong desire in Morocco to experience sport in a different way. What moves us most is witnessing such a variety of people coming together around a shared energy, with no performance pressure, simply to run, enjoy music, and connect in the city." This edition of the event was primarily sponsored by Opel Morocco, reflecting a commitment to integrating the mobility sector with urban initiatives, sports, and cultural practices. Mariem Sakmassi, Marketing Manager at Opel Morocco, emphasized that the partnership was aimed at supporting community-oriented projects that encourage new ways of engaging with urban spaces.
Originally launched in Morocco, RUN & BEAT seeks to expand its reach to other cities across the kingdom following this successful event in Casablanca. The project is championed by a collective that includes notable figures such as Amine Allali, co-founder of CANOVA Technologies; Kenza Nasreddine, founder of YouCycle; Yassine Ouarrach, founder of Jeem; Yasmine Ouf, co-founder of Yazine; and Zineb Bennouna, founder of Meet The Runners. Through this innovative format, the organizers aspire to create events that combine physical activity, music, and urban space engagement, fostering a sense of community and collective participation.
